We are based in South Oxfordshire and our sole purpose is to support people with
a wide range of learning disabilities, including austisic
spectrum disorders, mental health problems and physical
or sensory needs - in addition to learning disabilities. We specifically support
people in Oxfordshire and the connecting counties of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
We are extremely proud of the services we
offer, and as our main aim at all times is to be a truly “person-centred” organisation,
we invest a lot of time and effort in supporting people as and when required to develop their own person-centred plans. These
detail the things that are really important to each person and how
they like to be supported. Our staff are trained to support people
based on their plans. We encourage our teams to offer innovative and
creative support packages and strive to maintain our excellent reputation
as a provider of high quality, responsive services at all times.
We work closely with the families and friends
of the people we support and are always pleased to discuss our work
with them. We organise several social events each year so that we can
meet and enjoy sharing time together. We
help people to keep in contact with their families by organising transport
for home visits and telephone or email links.
Supported Living
Our domiciliary care agency, which is registered with the Commission
for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) employs around 50 staff and supports
30 people.
We support people to live in their own homes, with friends or with family.
Our services are designed around the needs and wishes of the individual
and range from a few hours of support per week to 24 hour support.
People are helped to plan their lives and make decisions with as much
support as necessary. We encourage people to take part in a wide range
of community activities and to develop new and maintain old friendships. We run
regular service user groups so that services are informed by the people
who use them.
Day Opportunities
Our Opportunities Service employs 25 people and supports about 50 people on
a part-time basis.
We run this service,at the Turnstyle centre in Didcot to provide
leisure, education and work-related activities. The majority
of our courses and recreational activities are run in local community facilities including
leisure and community centres. This ensures that people have
the opportunity
to meet other people and to be informed about other
services and activities near to where they live. Support can be provided
on a 1:1 basis or in small groups according to the individual needs and preferences of everyone we are here to help. |
