T2 Day Service

Turnstyle Day Opportunities

Turnstyle Day Opportunities supports adults with a learning disability to do different activities in their local community.

Turnstyle offers a person centred service. Staff work with people to help them to make choices and take more control of their lives. The service offers lots of leisure and developmental activities. We help people learn new skills and keep skills they already have. We support individuals to meet new people, both within the learning disability and wider community.

As a part of Style Acre, Turnstyle embraces the ethos and values of the wider organisation.

We can use the grounds of Howbery Park for walks or cycling. We have some 3 wheeled bikes we can use in the grounds. Howbery Park is very pretty. People often use the canteen at the manor house for lunch.

Style Acre has a speech and language therapist who works with Turnstyle to help make our service better.

We encourage people to think about volunteering or finding paid work. We have a work development coordinator at Style Acre who runs an ASDAN course about work. We support people in voluntary work in the Style Acre shop and in our tea room at Savages in Blewbury.

If people are interested in adult education Turnstyle staff will help people choose and complete lots of different courses.

Social Events

In the summer we do lots of different things and choose interesting places to go.

Last year we had a day at RAF Benson and looked around the
helicopters.

Style Acre have a summer party which last year was at the
Northbourne trust. It was good fun and people were able to go for a ride in an old car. We have lots of events over Christmas.
